Default Are JDM type-r axles shorter than USDM type-r axles

I went to swap my USDM integra axles for JDM type-r axles to fit my 5 lug and when the guy brought out the JDM axles they were shorter. He told me that all JDM type-r axles are shorter than USDM ones. I found this hard to believe so I didn't take them. Anyone know for sure if this is true or false??

Thanks, Mike.

Won't work either way. Different Axle nut sizes.
