The EG forum is taking a huge poo right now....

All you stunta boys showing off pics of your "JDM shoes" and your new tires and your "new" used exhausts is getting out of hand.

Not only this, but when a somewhat technical question is asked, people give FALSE and totally misleading answers.

If you don't know the question to a post, then simply bump it to keep it at top, or wait for someone who knows to give the correct answer or some sort of logical solution to the problem.

This place is getting gay......EG guys used to be all about ghetto racing and DIY projects.....now it's just a bunch of monkey bars and car shows

I'm no longer contributing to this forum unless it changes for the better

agreed here... I hope i am not the one giving misleading info??? Fairly new here, but pretty cool.

One thing though that would be cool is a section on common problems, caused and repair advice like hesitation, no-start and that sorta thing...

ive noticed in the what? 5 monsh ive been here it has changed.... I would like this to be like the first day I came when people quit B****ing about "ricers" or looks and just answered the questions reguardless, honestly. It would be nice if the rules changed and the forum became like this, then people who wanted pics or opinions that deal with anything other than the problem at hand, could post somewhere else.

I'm been waiting for somebody to say that!!!!

sick of seeing posts like "look what the UPS guy dropped off..." who gives a sh*t, it has nothing to do with tech. unless you just got a gigantic (sp) intercooler and you need help/advice installing it. sorry, just venting... I'm a noob too...

I agree. I don't say alot on here and have never bashed anyone. But the thing that really burns me up is false information. I never answer a question unless I know for sure or have experience with the matter. But there seems to be a bunch of people answering questions when they have no clue. I am not busting on the moderators I just wish members would answer only the questions that they can answer. I dont have a high post count because mostly I read and learn. But the smartasses on here are beginning to get out of control. That is just my .02 cents. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Matt

i think the mods are doing a great job but i find there is more about "what motor can i swap into my eg?", or look i got new rims. this site i thought when i first came here 2yrs ago was the place i came to get info, now i find that most info is wrong and i agree with emerika, maybe we should start to make some changes. i also find more people are ready to bash someone for asking a question then take the time to inform. i am sure there are answers that we all see 100x A day but i hate to see:" search NOOB" from someone who is A noob.

I agree for the most part. There are too many topics that are asked over and over again, it does get agitating. There are some people on here that jump out and attack others because they feel that the question they asked is 'noobish' or 'stupid'.. It's to the point where people are almost afraid to post/ask questions.

yeah but when you call the person out, his friends come in and attack the person who says where it belongs. like 743 pointed out it should be in appearance, and all his friends call him gay and to shut up and what not. its not his fault the moron doesnt know where to post.

I agree as well.. Everytime I log in this is the first forum I come in, and for the past two weeks or more there is always a thread at or near the top saying "I'm new, what doi you think of my ride". I think there should be one thread stickied at the top that is titled "NEW MEMBERS. Post your pictures here"

Tis all true....I really wasn't going after the whole "picture thread" subject intentionally, it just kinda came out. Although it is annoying, Tom has made posts about this, so there's no need to start another, unless we think it will make change.

I really just want to see this forum be more tech oriented. I'm always down with helping someone out and learning a thing or 2 myself.

But what makes it worse is kids regurgitating internet BS.....if you don't know then don't say. Save myself, others on this board, and yourself the trouble and bite your toungue.

I haven't been online in about a week and a half...but from what I'm seeing on this first page of EG+ it's not that much different than usual. I think a recent influx of idiot noobs and the strange laxity of forum moderation is begining to take its toll. I, for one, am not overly concerned. The venerable members of this site will still be floating around with the correct information and a helping hand when it's truly needed.

And, honestly, that's all we can really expect, right? We're still largely forging a path in the import performance community and many new people are expecting help with what we consider "simple topics". I guess we can either bitch about it and let it slide downhill or we can man up, answer some redundant questions and hope that the new kids catch on faster than the current group. The continued growth of this community is up to the people who care, not the new members.

We can allow them to become stumbling blocks, or we can build with what we've got.

SOLUTION: mandatory test based on the form's chassis. you would have to pass this test to be able to post! grr... and put a test in all the other tech and chassis specific forums as well

I don't mind it at all if someone has an honest question they need to ask. Thats the point of this forum....to help each other out. You wanna show off your monkey bars and b16>?? Join car domain or something, or just stick to the appearance forum.

grips got a point now...

I am new to this forum, but am a member of another forum on Harleys... I own one of those old shovelhead suckers. Anyways, they have a section on the newer bikes and those sections are always filled with questions like:

what oil should i use
what sparkplugs
here's my ride (they all look the same)
bla bla bla..

Not much you can do about that when the vehicle you like is really popular and owned by non-tech people... They will have 'stupid' questions.

Rules must be applied, but also enforced... But that takes effort from the mods..

I dont think that many people that post in GDD barely ever come to the EG forum..so what would be the point of posting this thread where the people would not know whats goin on here.

Yes Filthy, there is also too much BS about 'what should I do'.. These people can't think on their own. "Would this look good in my car" "What motor should I use".. Those are so annoying along with "How do I know if I have VtEC y0?". Search would answer 90% of these, and having a mind of your own would answer all the "should I.."
