If it sputter and spits, most probably a vacuum leak...

open the hood and check for disconnected hoses, cracks and so forth..

You can also spray WD-40 or brake cleaner on around the intake gasket and some hoses when the car is idling.. If the rpm gos down or up suddenly, you have identified your leak.

Any cel codes btw????

hmm..my car was doing the exact thing the other day..is your car misfiring as well with the problems that you already mentioned? In my case it was the distributor, specifically the crank sensor.

seems like its miss firing...it runs real bad...i sprayed carb cleaner over basically the whole motor and all the vacuum lines...it didn't change a beat...it only misses when revving over 1/4 throttle...if you keep it under that..its fine.

Are the spark plug wires, spark plugs, and dizzy in good condition? I remember I had a similiar problem, I have to do a process of elimination.. Ended up being bad plug wires and/or spark plugs. I've heard moisture in the dizzy can cause similiar effects and using a repellant like WD40 will help.

Sounds like classic "my coil just took a ****" symptoms. Either get an MSD external Blaster and modify your existing cap to accept it or get a new coil from the dealer. I can 99% guarantee that the coil is the problem because the same exact thing happened to my car not long ago.
