Default 18s are they a problem

I am getting 18s and I was going on my 4dr GSR and I have already lowered it 2 inches in the front and 1.75 in in the rear. My question is are the rims going to rubor be much of a problem. Also the rims come with band new tires 215-35-18ZR

18's are way too big for an Integra.

well if you already have them on why are you asking us if they are a problem?
do whatever you want its your car, but 18s make your integra slower than it already is. huge wheels take more revolutions to turn everything and to get power transfer, id sell them get some 16s or 15s

depends on the offset of the rims, but i had some 18" volk le37t's on my civic and integra with a 2" drop, and i didnt have a problem with them, except for hard corering they would rub my fenders. it just depends on what u are planning to do with ur car, if u want something that looks good to drive round town 18's are fine.
u will have to remove the inner wheel well plastic liner though

my 17's with 40 series tires are alightly smaller in overall diameter than my 15's with 55series michillians (sp)

i like my 17's i have no problems with them

you'll probably rub over big bumps and when turning hard where there is lots of body roll. Depending on the offset of the rims, you will rub more or less.

And you for people that still rant about big wheels being slower, that is hardly a problem. the bigger problem is the ride quality. you will feel every crack you drive over, but the response is way better than stock 15" wheels. the effect of putting 18"s on your car would be like bolting on and exhaust. does putting an exhaust on an almost stock integ make much of a differnce other than sound. most likely not. Do 18"s really make an integ that much slower, not really. maybe launching the car would be slower, but i like to see some proof that when your going from a roll, like 20mph and see how long it takes to get too 90mph.

I do know that the grip is much better when some 215/35/18 over the 195's that some people run on stock wheels.

as for looks, thats a personal opinion. I prefer 16's.

I think there are two issues with the acceleration being slower with big wheels:

1. because there is less tire it wont squish as much even if you deflate a little so you can't get as much grip and launching won't be as good.

2. larger wheels are both heavier, and have more of their weight further out. this means it takes significantly more torque to turn the wheel. This won't have much of an affect in terms of how much power a car engine puts out, but every little bit adds up

P.S. I think 18s look stupid on a car like an integra anyway. 16s

agreed.

but greekspeed had a good point. if you have some 17 that have a smaller overall diameter, than i doubt it would make the car slower on the freeway.

I have 18x 7.5's on my teg. I have a WAY larger contact patch over stock, so I actually have more traction. Not to say I need much more over stock because the small blocks we are dealing with might have no use for the extra tread contact. The weight might defeat the purpose though. I had stock blackies so the weight might not be too much different. They are designed with control in mind. so you can "feel" the road more. As far as looks are concerned, I like my rims big. And that doesn't mean I think small is weak. If the style of the rims match the car then you made the right choice, regardless of size. IMO

also, it doesn't affect acceleration if you match up the weight. It might affect the speedometer accuracy. mostly at high speeds. I was pulled over for going 85 when my speedometer told me 80. From my experience acceleration wasn't A PROBLEM. others might have the "in-depth, technical, scientific facts and numbers" on the true difference. I don't.

dude, i had 17in konig verdicts and they made my car accelerate slow as *****. i hated them so bad i lost 300 dollars by selling them for 600 w tires just to get rid of them for a new set of ROTAS! i dont notice ANY traction difference at all with the smaller tires/wheels get 15-16
