Default Jun 3 Question???

I actually have a gsr, but i have jun 3's and i figured more people would see this post in the typr r forum since more r owners have jun 3's. My question is concerning the other day when i ran the valves on the car and i noticed that on the small lobs, there was some wear marks. There was no wear marks on the vtec lobs what so ever. It was both on the intake cam and exhaust. The person who installed them did extra head work to make sure they have enough clearance. Is this normal to see wear marks on the camshafts from Jun????? Any comments and answers would be appreciated.

thanks, matt

I dont know about the JUN cams and wear, But when you looked at the lobes; Did you happen to check your valve adjustment for it being too tight? What valve springs are you running?

i have the whole jun valvetrain. I adjusted the valves when i was in there and they were a little tight, but nothing out of the ordinary. They were installed about 5500 miles ago. Will this hurt the performance of the car??? I know it will not when i engage in vtec because they are unscared.

with jun valvesprings you need to check the install height of the springs or
else they can bind which can lead to excessive wear and valvetrain failure.

Very true! I've run jun 3s in my GSR for two summers now without any problems. Just ensure that you check installed height

this is a bone head question, but since i was not the one to install them, how would i check the install height?? if the valves were to tight, could this play a factor???
