Carbon Fiber hood bumped you to SM, it is not legal in SP or STS.

The info in your question would put you in STS. The info in your sig, Oem CF hood, puts you in SM. Put the factory steel hood back on and you can run STS.

I'm in the same boat, d00d (well, I have a lightweight flywheel, too). Lightweight body panels are lightweight body panels no matter how you slice it.

It may seem minor, but if it gets down to the nitty gritty between you and another driver, you'll be the guy with a 30 lb weight reduction on your front end. Suddenly, you have the advantage.

The stuff you listed is all legal in STS so I don't know why they put you in SM. For STS you need the stock cat and flywheel too. Could someone have known you had the hood even though you did not mention it? Is it painted body color or left in CF black?

I was classing cars once at an event and had someone in a VW Fox say his car was basically stock and I was going to put him in HS until his friend said "What about the turbo?". That was before SM so he went from HS to EP, on 13" snow tires.

every mod you listed in your first post is STS legal. So either they did know, or they just happened to mistakenly place you in the right class.

I'm not sure why you're upset about being placed in the correct class?

Don't worry about it, whether you are in STS or SM you are likely to be far behind the fast drivers, so just concentrate on your driving and worry about classification later.

He is inferring from your post that you're pretty new to autocrossing based on your question about classing. Thats why he said to work on the driver because thats more important than what class you are in. Oh, and please spell out your words (why not y, you not u, because not b/c, etc).
