Default Rear bumper not matching up :-(

Hello, I have a 2000 Civic EX Coupe. Ever since I got this thing about a year ago, the rear bumper hasn't matched up quite right. It looks like someone ran into it at a parking lot sometime, and it is off.

Here are some pics of it.

Any tips on how to fix this? .. or is it even possible? The other side is completely PERFECT in matching.

Thanks

Is there a way I could bend this bracket instead of replacing? I have got no money here in college

is that a white thing, about oh... 2 inches long maybe a little more, that should be in the middle of the gap? cause it is there, and when I push it onto it, it slides off it.

Did you try taking the whole bumper off and then putting it back on. There is not that many screws and bolts at all that hold it on. Try doing that and seeing if you can it to line up better.

look just lil lil sag. unscrew\ thw lil screw in the rear quarter that holds the bumper. then pull it back. there is a tab under there that hold the bumper to the body. bend that a lil to make it tighter then put the bumper back and tighten down the screw. that should help. if not look for signs of a previous accident.

Mine is that way as well.... There are no brackets on the sides of the bumpers, they are runners that the bumper slides onto, if the grooves don't match up, or the bumper is warped, you get what you see there.... my bumper got fucked by a tree so im getting a new one, but pretty much all honda bumpers do that eventually...

p.s. it was warped before i hit the tree

I made a thin piece of metal bracket to fit behind the eurathane bumper and screw it up with a washer pressing it against the quarter panel. Try that.

Check for loose clips or support brackets. Try taking it off and see if anything looks off.

I think most all people that have a civic can say that their back bumper doesnt fit perfect, and wont stay up on those "clips." We all have the same problem...

Yeah, my '97 EX is like this. I removed the bumper and took a hammer to the clips because they were sagging a little bit, causing the bumper to sag on the sides. Helped somewhat but still doesn't look great. It doesn't bother me, though. My bumper rests on the clips and all of the tabs and screws are holding it to the car. I'm fine with it.

my sagged like crazy because of the rust, but once i get new rear fenders, it lines up perfect now, its just my front bumper now! sags on driver side. but my jdm headlights + corners and mugen front lip go on soon so thats a good time to line it all up
