Abnormal wear-Brakes and cv
ok so i replaced the pass. side cv shaft (short axle) about 8 months ago because the guy i bought my car from broke the outside cv boot and never got it fixed resulting in wearing the crap out of the bearings. and when i removed and replaced the axle i noticed that my outside brake pad was completly worn out yet the other three (inside pass.side and both driver side fronts) were fine if not looked brand new. oh well i thought and i hoped that a good brake bleed would stop the problem.
well it didnt help to much because this weekend i took a look at the brake pads because i thought i was hearing the squelers hitting and the same problem was back that pad was gone. then when i checked the cv boot it was torn all the way around
now my question is why would the one brake pad and one cv boot be getting damaged so badly so often. this kinda made me think of torque steering or braking because it is on the short axle side but it wouldnt really explain the brake pad........well idont know, really puzzles me
im a newbie on this forum but i was told its a good place to ask tech questions.
any help would be greatly appreciated

The outboard brake pad is classic from stuck caliper slide pins. You put on the brakes & the pistons have plenty of force to slide the caliper, and both pads press on the rotor. Then you release the brakes but the slide pins are sticky, so the outboard pad keeps dragging on the rotor.
When this happens the whole brake caliper, rotor, steering knuckle, & everything gets really hot. That doesn't do any good for the lifespan of your CV joint, & your wheel bearing, too.
