Default itr head swap on b18c1?

i have a 95 b18c1 swap and was wondering wether i should stick with just swapping out the gsr cams for some ctr or 00-up itr cams? or would it just be about the same price range to swap on an itr head? i do plan on upgrading the valvetrain when getting the cams. i plan on staying n/a for a while if that helps at all. if its better to swap the itr head, how much do they run for? any info is greatly appreciated. thanks, Sal

better swaping the head pretty much the same price
of skunk2 valvetrain.
also benefits of ITR is that is already port and polish.
save some $$$

also I think your change your avatar mods are too picky...

all b series parts are interchengeable.
so you will not have problems
the only problem I see is the ecu..
since the ITR doesnt have secondaries
the ecu will have to be changed...

Yes, the parts will fit but I believe there are differences in the sensors between 95- and 96+ heads due to OBD1/OBD2

Removing secondaries does not require and ECU change...

I believe there are extra sensors on the top end that an OBD1 motor doesnt have, and nither does your ECU

I also think the Distributor plugs are different, but I think you can use an OBD1 dist on an OBD2 head

thanks for the info guys. i have a chipped p28 for now plus i plan on going hondata once i get the head so i'm not really worried about that. the only reason i kept on asking about any head was cuz of the differences in obd2 and obd1. does anyone know for sure what the differences or problems there would be with installing an obd2 head on an obd1 gsr block? thanks, Sal

Swapping in an ITR head will change (lower) your compression to around 9.8.

I wouldn't mess with the ITR head on a GSR. First off, flow differences aren't really enough to make much of a difference. Second, any difference it will make will be offset by the loss of compression. Third, a complete ITR head will cost about $1000 for one in good shape. Finally, you will need to buy a new intake manifold (another $200). It just doesn't seem worth it to me. For $1200, you can have one hell of a valvetrain setup, or a great port/polish job on your stock head.
