Default Better Exhaust Manifold for D16A6?

New to the Honda scene.
Just picked up a 1989 Civic Si, and am trying to improve it on the cheap. The exhaust system needs to be replaced, and I want to upgrade. It seems wrong to install a 2.25-2.5" exhaust system to the 1.5"(?) exhaust manifold pipe. Is there another Honda model with a bigger/better flowing exhaust manifold that would fit the D16A6? I would like to avoid going to a header due to the cost and non-stock appearance.
Thanks for the help.

Yup.. you can use a late model d16y8 exhaust manifold.. it's pretty much a 4-2-1 header.
You will have to modify it a little bit (a little of the ol' cut n paste) but it's not that hard.

or, you could buy my already modified d16y8 exhaust manifold that I am no longer using

if riley doesn't jump on this, how much are you asking for the y8 manifold? I have an A6 that i had to cut the manifold to get out of the engine bay due to rusty bolts and will need a new one

How big is the Y8 supposed to be, the inner diameter?

50 plus shipping.

I'll tell you now. it's not pretty, but it does the job and flows a lot better than the a6.

Go buy a cone filter and rig up a cheap ram air intake where your stock airbox resides.
