Default Steel for sunroof plug kit

i want to plug the sunroof on my CRX. couple questions, what gauge steel or thickness should i use that matches the rest of the roof? the hardware store had a choice of "weldable" steel and "galvanized" steel. galvanized was cheaper, should i use that? im not going to weld it, im just going to attach it using L brackets. i hope to paint it, will it make a difference? also this link seems to say galvanized is different in standard thickness than regular steel. true?

thanks.

I would go with something around .032" to .040". If I remember correctly, I did my in .040". I would not get galvanized if your going to paint it.

Check your IM. I'm pretty sure that the OEM body panels are 22 gauge.
