What do you think about an Allmotor K20a Race engine?
Me and a couple of guys want to build a K20a2 for the all motor class. Let me know on what you guys think about it? Should I just stick with the B- series or do something new?
the k series is an awsome platform! pretty soon this will be the standard for all race cars once the aftermarket gets stronger and people really start to push this badboy to its limits! i think its very exciteing and would be a great project! with an all motor b series it takes a little bit to get 220hp 200tq? but with the k you start from that point and just go from there! insanely awsome thing to come to hondatown!
they are also lighter than the b-series. I got a buddie in the making of a k20 swap into his EG hatch. I say

Go K series. Look at my motor, with basic mild cams and built tranny with slicks, running low 13's. On a dynapack dyno, it made 238whp@8300 rpm and 166 torque at 6600 rpm. I'm just getting started with my stuff. My goal is 300 whp and 220 torque ALL MOTOR
i read in a magazine recently about a K20/K24 that "gives hondas a reason to be all motor". i'll try and find it again.

Thats exactly what I think. I'm tired of the good ol' B - series. I mean unlike the k-series, the B-series has tons of things for it. I just think that If we do the same thing the next Joe does we're going to run what Joe Runs. True the K- series is a different motor from the B- series. But when you become a True Race mechanic, A honda motor is a honda motor, and you don't limit yourself to what you can do.

negative....the platform matters....theres alot more potential in the k series engine then there is in the b series...the b series is tappd, the k is what its all about!
I dunno. K is expensive and I dont see that much more torque out of the k20. I have yet to see the frankenstein numbers.

K20a2 = $3500 w/ tranny and ecu.. not too expensive!
trust me, i see a lot of potential in the motor.

Uhh.. yeah 20lbs is lighter but the driver could always diet.
Or other thinsg on the veichle could be lightened up to compensate.
I like the K series, once they get bolt in mounts for the crx and the aftermarket gets alot stronger i will be all over it.
But when that happens it will probably be 5500 for Motor Tranny and Ecu VS the 3500 it is now. And the B series will drop drastically.

i dont think the motor will bolt into a 2nd gen crx, i think there are major modifications that have to be done

No.
That's 206 Nm. For the JDM ITR.
In ft-lbs: the base RSX is 141, the Type-S is 142, and the ITR is 152.
Of course they are putting out more torque, they're 2 liters.
