I have done a search for black soot, and only turned up a few things, so I thought I would ask. I have a 98 Prelude, with almost 56,000 miles on it. I just rebuilt the whole bottom end about 6 months ago. I blew my number one piston to pieces with some nitrous. Anyway, when I get on the gas pretty hard, I notice some smoke. I asked one of my friends, and he said it looks black. I also have black soot on my bumper. The soot comes off fairly easily a soapy brush when the car is waxed. I usually don't get into vtec often, but I get the soot after a while anyway. I don't have much in the way of mods. I have and iceman intake, greddy evo exhaust, and JE pistons. That is about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. One of the other threads said that their problem could be that they are running rich. How would I fix this? I know I can get a vafc, but I don't know if I am keeping the car, and don't want to spend $250 unless it is necessary. Thanks a bunch guys.
