hey guys

im a noob and i just my 4dr ls and now it wont pass smog. the car is bone stock. what can be the problem and what can i do to fix it?

first of all how did it fail?? nox and c02 numbers??? how was the idle? need info

Yup, need this info first. Second, is your check engine light on (i.e.: Are there any codes being thrown?)

well for now i can tell u guys that it has about 31,000 miles for a 98 and the car has been sitting in the shop for about a year and has never been started up until now..could it be the oil or something

yea, probably get a oil change and change out the gas. and drive it around before going to get the smog again.

 

people amaze me its been sitting for a year not running no maintence done to it


try changing the oil drain the gas out check the timing spark plugs plug wires

 

maybe ur cat may be no good

 

change your cat and your O2 sensor.
