In or out of gear when strapped to the trailer?
I've heard in gear for safety, out of gear to save the gears in the tranny. What's the general concesus? The E-brake is out of the car, so that's out of the question.
Out!
The car is going to move around just a little bit, even if tightly diagonally strapped at all 4 corners. In gear the drivetrain would be all locked up.
Since there is no e-brake, leave it in gear while you strap it down, then throw it into neutral as the last thing to do in the load up routine.

what he said -- "out".
my other race car has a hand brake, but if you use it, the rear calipers lock up completely and it takes an hour with a sledgehammer and various other tools to release them!
so i park it on the trailer in gear; tie it down; then take it out of gear. good to go!!!

ditto.
car in neutral with e-brake on. car would still move a bit on long tows. now, i place a wheel chock up front & then tighten the front straps until resting on the chock. tighten the rear straps last. no more movement.
You also have to keep in mind that some of your crew also tries to bump you while out on the track.
Did I ever say that I'm soooo glad you didn't hit me the time in turn one at LRP last season? That was close!

That has nothing to do with your trailering habits.
