after i got my rotters replaced i noticed a clicking noise when i turn it almost sounds like my tire hitting plastic but i have nothing hitting the tire. i had the guy that did my rotter's look at it and he went over all the bolts with his impact gun the noise seamed to stop but now 2 mouths latter im hearing it again. what could this be it seams to be coming from the front left.

also it could of bean making the noise sooner but with my powerflow exhaust i cant really hear much outside of the car

 

CV joints? bad joint will make a clicking noise when turning. usually will not happen to both sides at once. will start on one side, slight noise, and get worse. not catastrophic - you will have time to fix, but sooner is better.

can develop because the rubber boot failed and dirt got in. sometimes just age. on my '87 Accord I had to do both sides eventually, but my '90 Accord has 260K miles and never been done. I watch those CVjoint boots very carefully. if they ever split replace immediately.

Definately sounds like the CV's..but maybe also check wheel bearings..

 

Test this CV issue by going around in circles backwards with your car... If the sound gets louder, then that is probably the problem.

OK i found out why my car is clicking. for the reason of laziness, cold weather, and just plane stupidity i never even looked at my boot but when i changed my oil today i looked over and saw that the boot was completely ripped in two pieces and it looks like almost all the grease is gone. i thought that i had replaced it but it was the other one. i still have the 12 year old original boot on the left side.

well the meaning to all this babble is do you thing it would be worth the money to replace the boot or should i just get a new axle because its probably bean without grease for a while now. id like to keep the original axle till i get an h22 trany but i have to drive 2 hours away from my town every weak and i don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere

 

ur axles will work fine w/ the new tranny, as long as u dont run hella amounts of power....just get the boot replaced ASAP, and make sure everything is inspected to make sure there wasnt any damage due to friction.....good luck

 

since you heard a clicking, i would replace the axle. i wouldn't mess around buying a boot, because it sounds like the axle is bad. i think you can get one a a parts store for around $100
