91 Accord Rough Idle
This problem just started. It runs fine when the first started up.Idles about 1000 rpm but when you press the gas the idle goes down to about 500 and idles rough.
I cleaned the Throttle body and the IAC.I disconnected the TPS sensor to see what would happen and now it wont even idle when connected back up.It will run but i have to keep my foot on the gas pedal. The car has 280k and has been maintenced according to the books.
The only code in the ecu is the Vss sensor which i just replaces a few months ago.
Plz help i am at my wits end and dont want to replace sensors left and right

Hmm No responses?
Well since my post i have cleaned the Fuel injectors inspected the plugs/wires/rotor and gave Vac lines a thrice over with stethascope
The only thing i havent done was pull the throttlebody apart and inspect it.Gonna suck if this thing boils down to the ECU

I have a '90 with 260K, so can sympathize. Obviously you've done the tune-up stuff (plugs, wires, cap). That would be my first step. Otherwise I throw out some ideas.
Next, when was the last time you replaced your fuel filter? Its big for the engine size, so easy to ignore, but with that many miles it could be restricting fuel flow. This kind of starvation will not set any codes.
To clean the throttle body and fuel system, I run Berryman's Chemtool B-12 about once every 10 tankfulls.
With so many miles there are a number of things that could simply wear out. We have a truck at work with 190K miles that just started running rough. Turns out an exhaust valve went bad. Showed up in a compression test.
The best type of mechanic to chase this down is a smog technician. Will cost you some money.
Once you make any significant change/repair, you could try disconnecting the battery or fuse to remove power from the ECU to make it reset its adaptive memory. I've never done that on the Honda but I have on my Suburban.
Good luck.
