So I have this new door actuator
I removed the old one last saturday but my problem is the new one with the little hole. The little hole that when you connect it to the power door locks it moves left to right. Where does that connect to? When I took the old one out I can't really see inside. Does anyone have a pic? Thanks.
Look for the rod coming down to the lock assembly from the "key" actuator. (NOT the inside push/pull door ****.) The end of the rod sits on a cam that moves the lock assembly lock/unlock lever. The "little hole" you refer to on the lock actuator is actually a rod from the electric actuator. The lock actuator performs the same function as the "key" actuator so it must be connected to the same cam to lock/unlock the door. Make sure the little hole is mechanically connected on the cam, the same as the key actuator rod. When you attempted to install the 3 screws holding the lock actuator to the lock assembly didn't you notice that the holes didn't line up very easily? It doesn't line up because the thing isn't going together right. You have to tip the lock actuator - in relation to the lock assembly -so the little hole goes over the cam whilst pushing in and lining up the screw holes. You will know when it is in place.
