Default Shudddering CVT transmission

Howdy,

Anyone hear or experience a 2001 HX civic with CVT transmission making a shuddering sound, accompanied by vibration? The service tech who looked at
it said the trans fluid "smelled very different". Although the dealer changed the
fluid, it did not fix the problem. Any idears?

Thanks,
Pike

Thanks for the response...

It makes the vibrating/shuddering ONLY on acceleration from a standstill. Unless I really feather it, the shudder will always occur. To me, all transmission fluid stinks - I wonder if something is getting burned up in there?

At first glance i suspect internal tranny problems... With a CVT, diagnosis must be done using scan tools.... Can't really do it otherwise... Sorry. You will need to bring it in...
