Default OT: Does the stock ITR exhaust have a note to it, or is it silent?

Sorry guys, I know this isn't directly related to tech. discussion, but I have a civic, and I'm looking for a quiet, subtle 2.25" exhaust for turbo (this is for a sub-200whp application, so 2.25" is okay). Obviously, my stock civic exhaust is silent. Is the ITR stock cat-back exhaust quiet, or does it have an exhaust note to it?

Sorry for the dumb question, mods please don't delete this. Thanks.

So it's louder, or deeper at WOT?

Both! Things never get quieter at WOT!
At idle a stock ITR exhaust is almost silent.

I guess the reason I ask is because my stock civic exhaust is ALWAYS quiet, but I know it's power-robbing like crazy.

Yep. I would say its close to perfect. If I ever get a aftermarket exhaust, I would want it to sound like it does now.

Well... relatively speaking of course....

I mean I have instances of me starting my car twice thinking it wasn't on when driving my other "beater" car after months of the R...

But then again, the whole shaking of the car at idle is something I love in the R... and that's without aftermarket mounts too...

Mine sounds quiet driving around normally but anywhere from 75% throttle and up, the exhaust note has a clean, yet subtle tone. Dunno, if that description helped at all.

I hear alot of my header/intake at WOT though.

I'd get a magnaflow 2.5" in and out muffler for a quiet turbo app.

2.25" is o.k.. but not itr exhaust for turbo. make a straight through 2.25" exhaust.. turbo quiets things down a lot. i had 2.5" exhaust n/a - was very loud, after turbo it was much quiter.

I was trying to avoid this type of response. I know a 2.5" or 3" is the way to go for turbo, but 1.) I'm on a strict budget, 2.) peak horsepower / tq. is not my focus with this car. It's a street car, and I don't want a loud exhaust that makes my car/me stink and spits out black smoke. 5-10whp is not worth it for me, that's why I'm looking at 2.25", subtle 60mm cat-back exhausts. With the ITR cat-back, I'd probably remove the bottlenecks in the exhaust before installing it.

if you want to make it free flowing, then you'd need to remove 2 botttlenecks on the piping, replace muffler and replace resonator with straight through design. get an oval muffler for deeper sound.

It is a nice low tone. Almost silent but, at higher rpm it has a nice sound. smoooooth.

I have one off my Type-R I just took off. "hint" .

Just let me know if you are looking for one.
