Default possible turbo for h22 with type s pistons

i was wondering if it was possible to turbo a h22 with type s pistons that is bumped up to 11:1 compression. if not what would i have to do without sacrifceing the type s pistons.

you can use the type s pistons, but it isn't recommended, unless you tune everything very precisely...11:1 is a very high compression ratio to use in any turbo application, and i don't know of too many cars (other than indy cars and turbo diesels) that use such high compression when turbocharged...

You could try to use a thick headgasket to help lower compression but it wouldn't drop it to 9:1 or anYthing

It is possible but with high compression, you will have little room for tuning error. However, you would make some good power if you boost type-S pistons.

so pretty much i would have to have someone that really knew what they were doing to tune the car, to make sure i dont blow it.

I would suggest that you do a different motor for turbo because 11:1 compression with turbo isn't reliable for daily use. You have a very slim chance of getting it tuned right (not saying it can't be tuned for it) before it blows up. If you had it tuned just right and a spark plug went bad it could mess up everything.

so you suggest to just go with the h22 without type s for everyday use. but what do you suggest for daily/drag strip driving. not street racing but like the 1/8 mile tracks and 1/4 mile tracks.

For drag get a crx or civic hatch and drop a h22 into with boost.

If you are going all motor the type S is good. If you want to turbo go with another H22 and lower the compression to around 9:1. 9:1 is ideal for turbo. You can run more boost with it which compensates for the lower compression and there are no risks of high boost if it is a built 9:1 with boost.

thats what i want is high boost. thats why hopefully when i get money the motor is getting sleeved. so i guess im going to shoot for 9:1 compression.
