Default Anybody know SRS codes or a good source for them? '97 Accord

'97 Accord Wagon. F22A. EX. Got the car a few months ago. Just finished timing belts, cvshafts, water pump, valve lash, spark plugs, coolant, oil, and all that bizzyness this weekend. Hopefully good for a few thousand miles now. So yes, I have bashed knuckles as they are still bleedy and yes, I survived the initiation of the CRANK BOLT OF SATAN. The only reason I didn't give up was that I found this board saturday night and searched, finding out that I WAS doing the right thing and that it was expected to be tough to remove. Many hours were used with a 3/4" 700 ft*lb impact gun 'borrowed' from sears and repeated torch heatings before it was all said and done. Too bad I can't afford to keep that $250 monster of airtool...

So, question is this. I went through the process to retrieve the SRS code, hopefully the reason my light keeps coming back on. I got a code 85. I think my memory serves, it was 8 long flashes, then five short. I did it like three times, and got the same thing.

Anybody know what a code 85 is in the SRS sytem? Only ONE thread I found on the internet outlined the code retrieval system, and it was for a civic. Haven't seen lookups anywhere for SRS codes. Anyone know a source for them?

I have this shirt I got at a local thrift shop. It's a mechanic's uniform shirt from a local honda dealership. Maybe if I walk in there wearing my shirt, I can find out........for free.....

Thanks guys.

By the way, I'm a recent transfer from the internet boards for guys that drive 'supercharged thunderbirds,' you know, those torquemaster two ton land yachts they made in the early '90s. I really miss my 360 ft*lbs of V6 torque at 2500 rpm, but hey, I'm happy at the pump, and it's a wagon. But as far as technical knowledge goes, you all are a much greater source. I look forward to contributing more to your community as I learn more of this breed of car.

I can't seem to get my browser to open that link. Anyone else have that problem? I'll look for the code, I wrote it down somewhere. Thanks.

I got the list from my Helm repair manual, so I guess that's the real place for you to look.
