I buying this built engine that is a built 92 gsr motor. The guy says its a b16 but i thought all gsrs were b18. He said 92 was like one of the only years they made a b16 gsr. Its a dohc vtec, anyone have specs on it?

Sorry, but gsrs were made in a 1.7 and 1.8 to my knowledge... the only 1.7 *correct me if I'm wrong* was in the '93 GSR?

 

Now that I see it I'm questioning myself... any help guys?

 

i know the older gen gsr's had b17s... not sure of the specific years which had them(90-93)

 

90-93 has the B17 DOHC Vtec GS-R engine. Good engine, its like a b16 but .1 more displacement, theres a guy on here with like 190+ whp out of it. I think it comes 160 hp and 111 tq. stock i have no idea.

My buddie has B17 in his 97 EK and its scoots right along.

 

this guy said its a b16 for sure, and its the stock motor from his 92 gsr, he said all teh sops he took it too kept trying to tell him it was a b18 but it says b16 right on the block

 

I'm pretty sure the only B17 gsr's were made from 92-93 only. Defiantly no b16 that's for sure, only integra with a stock b16 is from Japan, the Xsi or something along those lines.

 

if its a stock DOHC vtec engine is his 90-93 or 92-93 which ever it is then its a B17 for sure.

the guy is probably trying to rip you off...or he had a built b16 in a gsr and is trying to confuse you to sell it for more?

 

nope complete bullshit, honda never sold a GSR with a b16 in it, they did how ever sell the 92-93 integra gsr with a B17. people call it the "blacksheep". but i know 100% sure no GSR came with a b16, head over to http://www.gc2ic.com and check out some pics and spec of the gsr's on that site.

thats weird my bro is goin to look at the engine tomorrow so i guess we'll see. hes def not claimin its a gsr engine to try to rip me off cause it a completely built angine im getting for insanely cheap. Ill have my borther get the engine code off the block, this guy seemed pretty set on that its a b16 tho...

 

Unless that **** is straight from Japan, like I said only Integra to come with the B16 was the Xsi. But im pretty sure you would have noticed if it was from Japan or not.

 

well im not saying its not a b16 and he could have vary well pulled it out of his gsr, but NO GSR CAME WITH A B16.

b16 swaps into da's is a very commen thing ans sense the b17 is a 'blacksheep' not a whole lot of after market support

 

i know i mean i read around and found the same **** ur telling me gsrs are b18 or b17 thats why when he said b16 i was like what?? anyway i guess ill find out tomorrow. EVen if it is a b16 its hooked up with pyr headwork, crowler rods arias pistons, rediculous amounts of work and he is askin 2300! no tranny but everything else and a few pieces of a turbo kit (manifold, dp, charge pipes) i snatched that right up

Honda never made a b17c1? They made the b17a in the 92-93 gsr's. They are more comparable to the b16 than to the b18 for sure!

 

90-93 integra's...

(USDM) 90-93 RS, LS, GS - 1.8 b18a1 - 130-140hp
(USDM) 92-93 GSR - 1.7 b17a1 - 160hp
(JDM) 90-93 XSi - 1.6 b16a - 160hp. not sure what years it was made

92-93 is the ONLY year the gsr was made in the da style. it seems like you have a gsr block with a si head...

the guy is a retard...the smallest motor that came from the second gen. integra was the 1.7 liter b17. no b16 has ever came from any gsr that is stock.
