What do I tell MAACO I want in order to get best quality
I've read the maaco posts. I know that I have to be certain on what has to be covered up. But there are so many different packages that they offer. Different paint types that they use. Which is best? What should my preferences be?

I would take it somewhere else, i mean this is your paint(no place to go cheap)
If i can rmemeber the place in arlington that painted my front bumper, I'll forward you the info. They were affordable and did great work. I think complete autobody in arlington on Pioneer does good work as well. I've seen some nice jobs come from that place.

You get what you pay for. Macco does very little to no prep work and anyone who knows will tell you that quality prep is the key to quality paint. Macco is good if you prep the car yourself and if you only need to make the car one color to sell it real quick. They use cheap quality paint, no wetsanding or buffing so it usually looks like an orange.
Every now and then someone gets lucky and gets a nice paint job from them but thats just blind luck that they got a painter who was in a good mood that day and put in a little extra effort.

If you arent a cheap ******* and spring more than 300 where they combine the paint/clear and you actually get into the better paints and dual stage **** then it looks great. They have warranties that the paint will not chip for 5 years nor will it have orange peel.
You may have to pay 650 dollars but a warranty and good quality stuff helps, do the prep yourself and maaco saves thousands

if that is all that is being painted, then just take them off yourself, throw them in the back of the truck, and drop them off at maaco. they cant screw up your car if it isnt there!!!

All different maacos are usually independantly owned. Be straight up just like you are with any body shop. Tell them you dont want the car to look like sh*t when its done and you will pay for quality.
Other advice, dont get the cheapest package, spring for the extra clear coat. I have a friend who just did his EK spent $999 and it looks really good. We did the prep and tape ourselves which is a big part of it. I suggest doing it, if you know how of course.
