been looking for a 4th gen vtec for forever. im getting tired of looking. and no, im not only looking local, i was about to buy one across the country. i hate to do this, but im leaning towards gettinga a new 5th gen.

 

Get one. They are bad ***. I like mine

 

Wait...I'm not saying that 5G is worse than 4G or vice versa. Get what you want, you'll regret it if you don't. case in point:I bought a Civic EX a year and a half ago, now I have a 4G prelude VTEC. I lost money on the whole deal. If you can't find a 4G VTEC you can easily find a 4G Si and transplant a JDM H22a into it.

laughin2.2, im really taking your words into consideration. i hate to snub my nose to a brand new car, but its just not what i want. i could always get an old 4g vtec or si and do the swap, but its too much of a hassle.

yeah they did. im very grateful for his time and whoever else helped me. turned out the guy wants to keep his car. :\

 

I waited almost two years for my 3rd generation! I am very happy!

 

The 4Gs are faster out of the box, but the 5Gs are SO nice. Both the exterior and especially the interior are beautiful.
I'd take a 5G over a 4G any day 'cause my priorities aren't strait line speed and track prowess, and the 5G is no slouch by any means...

so what did they think of the car? Did they just show up and then he says he wants to keep it? Or did they drive it too?

 

Jeff told me that he went there (maybe with someone else? dunno) and they checked it out and test drove it. he said it was slightly faster than his being that it had the JDM engine. but the guy said that he was getting a pay raise or something and could afford to keep it. doh

 

oh man.
i dont know how many of you live in northern NJ, but i went to Motorsport 46 on route 46 today and i saw the nicest 5th gen. its a show car and inside the store. after seeing that it makes me want to get a new one. =\
