Parts NOT To Re-use During A Build
I'm in the process of building my motor again and was thinking of all the stuff I'm going to buy from Honda. What sorts of things do you guys ALWAYS buy new when you take apart a motor, even if it only has 2000 miles on it? Here's what I was thinking:
Head bolts
Head gasket
Main bolts
Anyone else? I heard someone say the crank pulley bolt needs to. I don't see why. I could see the flywheel bolts.

depending on mileage there are a few nice things to do like
oilpump(throw a vtec on in there while your at it. rebuid kits for you existing are available, pretty much seals and crap.)
waterpump(cheap as crap and pain in the *** to change minutes after you get your newly built motor in,... don't ask me how I know)
timing belt
cam seal
i wouldn't worry about a crank pulley bolt or flywheel bolt.

usually it all depends on the condition and mileage of the motor you're planning on building.
I bought a 2000 GSR swap and certain things didn't need changing: oil pump, water pump, rings, rod bearings and main bearings. These things would be considered the backbone of a rebuild, so check them out first.
I personally used an LS block/rods/crank, and had to interchange some parts, so the only things i reused were the rings (OE honda lasts a long *** time), oil pump and water pump.
New items bought:
Cam seal
Oil pan gasket
rod beaings
main bearings
ARP head bolts
ARP rod bolts
head gasket (oe)
This is just for the bottom end.

Most of the parts I have are new and I have replaced all the usual things like oil pump, water pump, timing belt, etc. I'm wanting to know what I should replace because my whole engine is apart. I know the head gasket has to and I plan on getting ARP head studs and rod bolts. I'm going to go ahead and change the brand new bearings I put in because I had a slightly low oil pressure after I put it back together and bearings aren't that much. Anything else that you guys know of that is a MUST if your motor is 100% apart (I'm talking as far as you can take it apart)?
