Default is this a good deal??

Kind of off topic….. But is $800 a good price for a 96 accord lx (non vtec) motor with 47K mi on it? If I want the 5 speed tranny it will be an additional $200. The price does not include installation.

If your wanting FI go with the f22, if your wanting a more reliable engine go with the h22 for a little bit more .

I'm just trying to replace the motor in my 91 accord. I have an f22a1 that is going to hell fast and I need a cheap replacement. Not going with the H22 swap b/c it cost too much and would prefer to spend the money on a turbo. Hey I’m a tuner on a budget!

Most f22's can be had for 600-800, if your motor comes with everything then its not a bad purchase.

I hear ya on the low budget tuning-----this hobby is worse than a crack habit.

I think thats a rip man. You should be able to get it for less, I see on ebay for cheaper but then again that is ebay. DOnt know if they are trustworthy.

ive heard of ppl getting f22 that run FINE for 200-300 from junkyards (taht is w/o tranny and A/C pump, etc....)....but 800 for NON vtec does seem high.....if ur really on a budget u shouldnt look to spend much more than 5 or 600 for an f22b2

Again.......IMHO you are getting ripped, $800 for that engine is way too much., but if u insist go ahead and get ripped.

^^ what he said.. if ur gunna do turbo.. having VTEC with ya is hell of alot better then non vtec.. no matter if its abit more.. Worth the extra money to pick up a vtec f22b then an over priced non-vtec..

that is for the long block...after you add shipping, you are up to 1500...on top of that, the motor will come with broken sensors and missing parts, no header etc...after it's all said and done, you are looking at about 1800-2000 total for an h22 swap...
