Default 5 point racing harness and roll cage question.

I'm thinking of getting a roll cage/harness/seat setup. I want to do it right so I'm getting a cage with the cross harness brace. I want to know if there are any safe cages with a removeable cross brace that will still allow me to use the back seats?
I'm also planning on getting a momo/sparco non-adjustble race seat. I'm looking at the ones in the $300 price range. Do these seats have front/back sliding adjustment or are they permanently set in place? I was also wondering if they are hard to take out once installed in case I need to swap back in the stock seat from time to time?

Oh yeah, I can't find any 5 point harnesses on any of Sparco/momos sites. They only have pictures of the 4 point system. Is the 5th point just an extra add on piece to one of the 4point units? Thanks in advance.

I am not trying to be a butthole but why didn't you just ask this question in the rollcage thread below instead starting another thread?

A 5point harness can be ordered from Summit and a couple other online parts sources.

Autopower has a removable cross brace available in their 4pt bar, so I would guess they could put one on a 6pt cage. Call and ask.

As for the seat, yes you can get a slider braket for it and removing the seat in a Honda is cake. 4 bolts.

Look here, http://www.racerwholesale/, for good prices on harnesses etc.

Autopower will no longer do removable cross braces for full cages, only for bars, from what they told me not too long ago. They also won't make bars out of anything but ERW mild steel tubing anymore.

Best cheap/good seats are Corbeau Forzas and Forza II's IMHO. Better built than the Italian stuff and bottom-mount (instead of side-mount) which can mean stock-type brackets and sliders. Take a look at http://www.corbeau.com

PS- Best good/cheap 5pt camlock harnesses are also Autopower, less than $140ea if you know where to look. SFI ratings make them comparable to Momo/Sparco but for less $$$ because they don't have the fancy Italian name.

HTH,

Jon
