Car Shuts Off Out Of Nowhere
The other day, I was driving my car, everything was running normal and when I stopped at a redlight, about few seconds later out of nowhere the engine just shut off by itself. When I want to start it back up, you can hear the cranking sound but the engine won't start. I keep on trying and about few minutes of trying, the engine start again.
I'm quite worry about this since currently I'm out of state on the job and I don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere because of this.
Do you guys have any idea what is wrong with the car? It doesn't seem like it's from the battery though because you can hear the engine cranking but just won't start.

First thing. What year is the car? Second i would check for recalls on the vehicle cause it sounds like the ignition switch which had a recall on it.
Check the coil. Same thing happened to my 96 EX. Except when driving, my car would sometimes stutter, lose power, and sometimes even die. I had an MSD ignition setup. When I swapped back to OEM, everything worked fine again. First, I thought that it was the ignition module, but I had it tested at NAPA, and it tesed fine.
It's a 1999 Accord EX 4 cylinders coupe with manual tranny.
Yea, I have the MSD ignition set up too so you really think that what really caused it? I have the MSD ignition for about 20,000 miles only though.

It could just be the coil dying. I didn't take everything out, just put my OEM coil in, and hooked the wires back up to the OEM coil. I only had the MSD ignition on for about 10,000 miles. I bought the coil used, so that was why mine probably died. I'm going to buy another one MSD coil, later.

My check engine is always on because I don't have a catalytic converter on my car.
So the MSD ignition doesn't last long huh? I didn't put mine that long ago and I bought it brand new.
