Draft:tint on my teg (over dot matrix)
I know this may belong in the appearance forum... but i had alot of u buddies in the teg forum askin me about how the tint turned out for my teg with the dot matrix... and u all kno i give first priority to my teg brothas. HEre are some pics....

THere are some portions that did not adhere entirely to the glass... but from 2 feet away.. you cant notice at all. And i am entirely happy with the results. tell me wat u think

Same deal happened with both of my Integras. It's nearly impossible to make tint over the dot matrix look perfect, but yours looks as good as any I've seen. Thumbs
for you
for you
thanks for the compliment guys. Yea.. i really am happy with the results... i've seen so many tegs with bad tint jobs its really sad. But the guy i went to has 15 years of tinting under his belt, and he spent a good amount of time testin out sample portions of tint to see what would lay down on the dots the best and still look nice. He's in ONtario california if anyone wants to go there... let me kno... i'll pass on his info.

ITs limo tint... i think 5% but can't be sure... i went with the non-metallic non titanium film because it adhered best to the dots... and looked just as good. As for how much... i'm thinking... 130-140.... but its worth it in my opinion... an extra 15-20 bucks more than avg tint jobs but for the xtra effort he puts in and quality of job, welll worth it.
As for matchin your existing tint... well from what the tint guy told me... he said all tint fades. And with quality films, it still fades but to a certain degree... and since he works with alot of different material i'm sure he can get the same color tint... but depending on how long you've had your existing tint and how much its faded... well that just may be a little off. Let me kno if u want the introductions made.

Nice work! I'm very surprised at how well it adhered around the dots. I just put a strip of gloss black vinyl across the top of the rear glass to cover the dot matrix up.
btw, time to wax that biatch, Eric!

hahaha.... yea i considered the vinyl as well... but after a while vinyl loses its gloss and may look tacky so i wanted just the tint. and yea... haha.. as for my car i do need a good wax n polish job... but werkin 6 days a week with alot of 13hour shifts doesn't leave me a lot of energy to work on the car.

he sanded down the dots a bit before applying the tint. and we already knew that certain types of film would adhere like ****... so we went with the non-metallic tint which really did stick a whole lot better.

Ditto. I have had 4 tint jobs, and the one I have now is the best. But I still need the vinyl on the back for cover.

I don't know why they call it a dot matrix... just people called it that... so i assumed thats what it was called.
Thanks for the compliments on the tint guys, very appreciated.
As for my door handles being faded... yea, they are kinda faded, but i think the fact that we touch the handles all the time has alot to do with the paint's poorer condition.
