im confused..im pretty sure stock vtec xover is 4400..but i keep reading mixed views that it engages 5500 or 5800 and so..if i want stock setting..should i set my vafc to 4400?..my friend that talks to a lot of acura techs says it engages at 5500-5600..im confused..

 

and if i set it to 4400..would secondaries still open automatically 5800?

 

Type R's engage VTEC at 5700 RPMs. GSRs engage at 4400 RPMs.

 

What if you have the Type R Cams? would you best set it at 5700 or 4400? Because right now the VTi is set to open at 5000

 

best is to take it to a shop and get it tuned

 

i know i am..after i purchase and install a fpr..for now i just need to know the exact stock setting to set for vtec..so it sounds like 4400 right?

 

I set mine at about 5200 rpm. But the stock settings on the gsr are 4400 rpm. The secondaries open up at 5750 rpm. Whats the problem that u need it to be exactly stock. Ive never ran it at 4400 rpm and ive never had any problems or CEL's.

 

so if i set it to its stock 4400 with the vafc..since you can only do one setting..would secondaries still open at 5800 automatically?
