I need help guys deciding on a rear sway bar!!!
My friend has an RSX, and we are almost done piecing together a real nice setup for it. It is his daily driver and here in North Jersey the roads are horrible.
So far his suspension setup consists of Mugen Sports Suspension & Mugen Front Strut Tower Bar. Tonight we picked up his Toda Exhaust Manifold and Toda 25mm Front Sway (Solid) from the UPS regional shipping facility.
Here is our problem, what rear sway bar should he get to balance out his suspension once the Front 25mm sway is installed? I know that it will give him alot of understeer as is. He wants as balanced/predictable a setup as can be, and so far our search has left us with alot of different answers.
King Motorsports tells us to use the Mugen 25mm Rear Sway, Toda tells us to use the Progress 22mm Rear Sway. Some people say ITR 22mm, and some say Eibach 23mm.
What are we to do??? Please any help would be truely appreciated.

Definately dope header. I think for your setup I'd go with the ITR 22mm. I'm sure the Mugen is a great piece but it's $$$. Get the ITR, you'll probably be happy and it's only about 89-100 with bushings. In the worst case scenario, you sell the ITR used for 50-80 and buy another one--you're only out $10-50. I doubt you won't be happy with the ITR bar.
type-R rear sway with stock front will give you neutral to very slight oversteer. since you've increased the front to 25mm, i would guess that you need to increase the rear to one that's larger than 22mm. probably 25mm in the rear.

1mm
It would seem a small difference in size but I'm sure it would have a bif affect on handling.

Hooligan and glw, why do you think i should go with the 25mm? I mean how will that effect the feel of his car? I know it will balance it out, but wont it make the car alot more prone to spinning around? He wants a very well mannered car that handles like hell, not something he has to constantly becareful with you know. It is his daily driver. Let us know. Thanks again!!!

well i personally rock the 22mm ITR sway bar, i suggested the Mugen 25mm because according to King and Mugen when that bar is used with the sport suspension and front + rear strut tower braces that the handling is excellent. Also since he has the Toda front sway which is significantly thicker than stock a thicker rear sway is needed to balance out the handling characteristics.

Thanks man! When i e-mailed them and spoke to them on the phone, they gave me the same response that you just did. It wasn't that i didn't believe them, it was more a case of every single person i spoke to giving me a different response. It especially got me thinking and wanting a more secure answer when i e-mailed Toda and got the answer to use the Progress 22mm Rear Sway. Thats what made me think twice about everything. I think i will tell my buddy to go with the Mugen 25mm Rear Sway like i had originally way back thought to do.
I appreciate all the help guys! If anyone else cares to chime in, then by all means go for it!
