Default h22 thermostat

pretty simple and stupid question but hey, everyone at one time doesnt know where the piston is, but anyways, does anyone have a good picture that they can point out where the thermostat is and basic steps in removing it (ie. drain coolant, unbolt it...), also, if the fan isnt coming on until the engine temp gauge gets to 3/4 hot, does it sound more like the thermostat or sensor or switch or other??? btw, radiator and coolant are a few months old so those arent the problem

thanks

the thermostat in the h22 is in the back of the block where the bottom radiator hose clamps onto the housing. take off the housing then you see the thermostat. i have yet to get my fans to work in my h22a 93 accord lx swap. the stock f22 has to 3 temp sensors the h22 only has 2 on the f22 the one on the front of the block is not used on the h22(confusing) i think that sensor controls the fans.
