I would definatly convince myself that it is only the valves needing adjustments but, my buddy blew his head via the same way. The odd part was he beat a twin turbo z on the blown head and still drove it to and from work for 3 weeks before actually looking at getting it fixed. The tech never did find one of the rocker arms.
hey i heard if you have bent a valve the the will running like **** like it will miss and studder and **** and his car does't do that it runs perfect but it just sounds like hs valves are ticking a little bit

ya dude, dont fret. You probably need to get a valve adjustment. Also, you might want to go ahead and replace your timing belt if you havnt already. Just my .02
if your goona do your timing belt to anthony your looking into alittle bit of money. if you do the timing belt get the wter pump done at the same time. remember on my civic whe i used to replace my water pump wel i got the timing belt done to and the y charged me 300 and something
i get paid today so tommrow ill will be gettin them adjusted...does anyone know how much acura charges to do a valve adjustment...i heard they do it for around $80 but just want to make sure

well 7500 u should have nothing to worry about im talking mayb around 8,500...but u can usually just pop ur hood and jus listen to ur engine to see if u hear a ticking sound coming from it.....

8,500?? I don't think you bent your valves if that's how high your RPM's spun. If you hear ticking though, you may just need a valve adjustment. I bent my valves last January going from redline in 3rd to 2nd on accident. The needle basically dropped of the tick marks on my tach, I probably hit 11k RPMs. That sucked ***, and the repair, if done by the local Acura dealership was $1375! I had a friend do it for a fraction of the cost.
Oh yeah, also trying listening to your exhaust. After I bent my valves, there was a constant misfire and my car sounded like a Subaru. If you hear mis-fires, then you might have bent a valve
Good luck.

Well guys, I don't have a honda but rather a Volvo.
Here's the story: A few weeks ago I was on my way home, not driving hard at all. Shortly before I reached my house, I put my foot down in second and ran it up to 6k.
All seemed fine until I started the car up the next morning, a loud raspy ticking was coming from the top of the motor. I warmed the car up and drove very carefully to Volvo (5 min drive). They diagnosed a collapsed lifter. I had them change the O-rings first as this had been suggested my a few people. Noise was the same. Next all 20 lifters were replaced. There is still a fairly loud tapping noise now, a different sound than before.
I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what the problem might be. While the top of the head was off, they checked the cams etc..it does idle very smoothly but with the tick.
My lifters never tapped before and now that they were all replaced why would they tap? Is there some sort of break in period?
I'm starting to wonder if it's a valve seat or valve spring. What are the signs of problems with the valves? From what I understand, high boost can stop the valves from properly re-seating themselves.
Sorry for such a long post...

YOU BENT YOUR VALVES .. PROBLE THE VALVES CLOSET TO THE TRANNY .. I WOULD NOT WAST YOUR MONEY ON A VALVE CHECK? TAKE THE HEAD OFF AND TAKE IT TO GET REDONE. YOU SHOULD BUY SOME REV SRINGS SO WHEN YOU MISS SHIFT... LOL

the problem you mayhave bent it..
