You won't have any problem as long as they are installed correctly. Lots of people run Toda valve springs w/ all types of cams since they are less likely to bind than many others.

Thanks ...

One more question ...

would I need to run aftermarket retainers? or will the std type r ones do for the Jun 3's ?

Thx in advance

You can run stock retainers into the 9k rpm range, but personally, I use Portflow titanium retainers w/ my Toda set-up.

Thx again Type R Bob.

I have been advised to go for the Toda B's instead of the Jun3's or Toda C's.
My mechanic believes that Jun's tend to brak things and I don't have enough compression for the C's

Do you agree? My compresions should be 11:1 as it's the JDM B18c type R.

Am abit confused ATM. What's your setup type R Bob? Thoughts?

Well, I think 11.1 isn't ideal, but it's not terrible. You may want to look into a thinner headgasket, milling the head a bit, or getting different pistons to raise it a bit if you are going to run Toda's. Reason being, the overlap on Toda spec B's and C's is rather large. Incidentally, if you are running B's, you may as well run C's. The primary lobes on both are exactly the same, only difference is the vtec lobe on the C's is bigger.

As far as saying Jun's break, I don't know about that. Any cams that are installed improperly will break, and I know of many people that run Jun's w/ no problems. Bear in mind that Jun's are considered to be more "streetable" than Toda's because of the difference in primary lobes, i.e. the lobes you are on most of the time if you are usually driving the car on the street.

Also, if you run the Toda cams you will need extra items (not to say you won't w/the Jun's), i.e. engine management, bigger injectors, etc. If you send me an IM over h-t i will outline my set-up/experiences.

The old jun 3's use to break because they were made from chilled cast. The newer ones are made different now and they hold up. Make sure you don't by from someone that is trying to just get some Jun cams off the shelf that they have had for like 2 years because they are probably the old ones.
