General Questions Prelude H22 Swap and Mods
Whats up tech,
I just recently purchased a prelude and want to know somethings...I have a hatch with a b16 in it so I know the honda ropes pretty good but a first timer with the H series. First of all I just want to be able to run mid 14's with the prelude just enough for street. The lude I have has a blown motor (H23) and I am planning on putting a H22 in it. What would be the fastest approach to reaching my goal.?
I was wondering is there any difficulty in removing butterflies?
If so, would it be worth it?
What would be the best chipped ecu to run? (P30, P28, P72...etc.?)
I know from experience that if you take a b18c1 take the butterflies out and
put a chipped p30 it like drops 1/4 mile times like 7 tenths of a second. Would
that have the same if not revelant output?
And with that being said would mid 14s be possible with h22, no butterflies, chipped ecu, cold air intake, header and exhaust???
Thanks,
Lil Ray

a lude with a jdm h22 with i/h/e should run low 14s if not high 13s so i dont think you will have a problem obtaining your goal. but when you get your jdm swap pay the extra money to get the lsd tranny. it is well worth it.

not to rain on your first post but do you have any evidence to back that statement up? simply removing the butterflys which are supposed to help you with bottom end, and adding a chip in my mind doesn't drop you .7 in the quarter.. unless you have proff i would like to see it
as to answer your question,
get a jdm h22 with intake header and exhaust and you should be close to the mid 14s, ive seen just a bone stock jdm h22 with no other mods, lay down a 14.9
i would stay with the h22 ecu, unless you have a p72 kicking around that you could get chipped and then just pun a stock h22 prom,

do not remove the butterflies they help you 60' and they don't hurt your top end or get a aftermarket intakemani. with just the swap i got a 14.9 in my accord same weight. as for the ecu p28 chipped is the shizzle with a hondata would be awesome one of the best bolt ons for the h22. all in all p28 i/h/e lsd 14.3 easy. H22a lsd good deal i would say like 1800 is a good deal. i recommend hmotorsonline
accord are not the same weight as a lude. accords weigh every bit of 2900 lbs. or more. Trust me i had one with an h22. I ran a 14.8 with an intake and muffler. That was also with a box in the back. I totaled that car and then put m motor into a blown 92 si. My car weighs 2700(about the same as an integra) However both the accord and lude need diet plans!!!
As for putting in a jdm h22. My h22 is out of a 91 jdm lude. I am set up with an h23 m2s4 5 speed tranny. It is a strong *** motor! I have stock intake with a jdm type-s header and DC sport cat back. I also have a MSD cap and plug wires. I am running a p13 ecu. My car is set to run this saturday night for the first time in the lude. I will post my results!

i used a p28 chipped in my h22 hatch.. it felt fast.. i ran a 13.60 @ 99.9 MPH with the chip but when i dyno'ed the car.. it pushed out like 165 hp and like 135 tq, but the funny thing is the power started to drop at 7 i still have the dyno sheet if u would like to see it ill get it scaned... when i raced it i took it to 8.5 so i dont know wut to tell u about chipped ecu's it felt faster than the stock but the dyno is funny i never got the chance to dyno wit the stock ecu so im not sure if the chipped p28 was better than the p13. hopes this helps
