Any good LS sites out there?
Does anyone know of any good LS sites out there? I have found some very informative websites while browsing around (at work!) but they all seem to be GSR people. I know almost everything is applicable to the lowly LS/RS but I'd like to see some people's LS buildups with engine mods, pictures, ET's, etc.
im gonna go ahead and forwarn you somewhat about this stuff. Being an LS owner as well, i can say...we get our share of crap, and in most cases there arnt that many sites out there about our particular cars. There are nice LS integras out there, (most of which happen to be here). But also keep inmind that alot of people that get an LS rice it out so to speak. But there are always exceptions.
I know what you're saying. It seems that it is hard to get a lot of respect from other enthusiasts with an LS. I pride myself on keeping my LS as far from rice as possible. I have concentrated 95% of my efforts so far on the suspension of my car and even without VTEC I love it
my website is really not up to date. look out for some new/better mods to come this spring......

I just wish I had the funds to get serious with my car, but for now I'm very happy with my suspension mods thus far.
Trending Topics
I had a Stealth Grey "hence the screen name," 94 2 dr. 5 Spd. Ls about a year ago, Before I bought my 2 R's.
I did some work but also did Alot of investigation and searching for upping my Ls' performance.
For bolt on HP/TQ I had an AEM/CAI, DC Sports SS 4-2-1 header and a Greddy EVO catback, ask what you like.
For rims and rubber I had Enkei Racing Seneca's in 16" "on sale from Tirerack" and Yokohama A520's in 205/45/16, "also on sale from Tirerack" again I'd entertain any questions.
And next I had planned on suspension with Koni Yellows "adjustable," Eibach Prokit springs and a Neuspeed 19mm rear swaybar, Had a friend in Ca. with that exact setup on his LS and was very pleased. Ask me again anything and if i can't answer it I'll put you in touch with him.
As for MORE POWER "which I think is what Every Ls owner wants," I was really getting ready to do either a greddy Turbo Or a JRSC. It was all a matter of time and of course I landed a better career position and could well afford the new R! The Ls block is a strong base and almost bulletproof. It is a great place to start with any FI setup. Cams probably would have been a good next step with Crower.
I was very happy with my old Ls and actually miss it's sunroof and more supple suspension sometimes. I was satisfied with my mods but still have constructive criticism. Ultimately though the R was the way for me to go and I'd never turn back.
And NO, I firmly stand behind the Ls as a Sleeper of a performer and NOT a Ricemobile. Rice is everywhere, there are even Ricey R's that give all of us a bad name. Some people have taste some do not. Some have good taste and others have none at ALL! My Current NBP R is stripped and dewinged and looks like an RS with a 5 lug conversion and a nice front lip. Heh Heh heh.
BTW I must commend you "Johnny62" for questing to benefit a much overlooked car "as compared to the GSR," The first Acura I owned happened to be an Ls but I had the choice at the time of getting a white GSR and decided on my LS, No regrets at all. I feel I learned the Teg Chassis limits and characteristics without concentrating on just Power or Speed. I certainly fully appreciate my r as opposed and give respect to Ls's where respect is due. Winning the Auto-X or track event is not based solely on those traits, it's the driver that wins, the car is just a tool.
Good luck, Anton
PS Drove mine till 95,000 miles and sold her for $6000. privately, before I got my PY. Yup, "Sniff," Sometimes I wish I could just open the roof to feel the breeze...

well honda-tech is a pretty good site and theres alot of us LS owners on here. you dont need vtec to have a fast honda. you need boost though, and a boosted LS can be fast as hell.. max horsepower for a stock B18 motor is about 300whp, and getting a GSR and an LS to that will cost the exact same amount.. So to me id rather have the LS and have 1)cheaper parts 2)be the underdog 3)pay less for the car..
I love not having VTEC.... it gives me so much satisfaction when the riced out Civic Si asks me what I've got after beating him, and all I tell him is I don't have VTEC. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a GSR, but I'm not at all dissappointed with my SE/LS. For the difference in price, I'd take the LS any day and slap a nice T3/T4 turbo on it with some wicked cams. Good luck. Nice cars on the websites by the way.

Did you have any QM times for your old LS? As I mentioned in my first post I'm more interested in handling than drag strip performance but that seems to be the universal measure of engine performance. As for my car I've got Tech-5 springs, KYB AGX's, polyurethane bushings, STB, GSR/ITR front sway bar (waiting to be installed) and the ITR rear bar is next on the agenda. As for wheels and tires I have '98+ GSR wheels with Dunlop SP W-10's (195/55's) I love my suspension setup thus far and I can't wait for the sway bar upgrades
By the way, my LS runs 16.1 +/- (Gtech) with only a cone filter at the end of the stock intake tube. I know, not very impressive when compared to GSR/ITR times but still quick enough to take Civic SI's that I've come across.

Question: Is it possible for 94+ Integra LS/RS/GS/SE's to beat Civic Si's when both of them are stock, if both drivers are equally skilled?
I think a modded nonVtec integra can beat Si's...but... anyone?
Suspension question: Why did you decide to go with GSR/ITR sway bars? Aren't there better stuff out there?
I was gonna go with comptech swaybars....and ITR rear sway bar. Then either Tokiko(sp) or KGB AGX's adjustables with Eibach Prokits.......
You think this suspension will be good? I'm open to suggestions~

unfortunatly no, if both drivers are equal. Sis pump out 160hp and LS 140hp. and if the LS is slightly modded with like i/h/e still its a no. unless the driver of the SIs isnt very good then the LS has a chance. my friend has a 4dr LS(stick) with i/h/e,shaved flywheel and he beats SIs and GSRs its just a matter the skill of the driver.
When I was stock I could beat an Si to about 90 MPH.... Now I've got him/her until about 105 where they pull on me. Thats ok though, I'll be slaughtering them once I get my T3/T4 in July.

I'm just going to throw in my 2 cents too.
I own a 95 LS, and have mod'd it in the function only theory.
I have wheels, instead of getting heavy 17 inch chromies, I got cheap, lightweight 15's (rota subzero's) in gunmetal. got the RE730 potenza's too
ITR rear sway-bar. Comptech springs/used POS tokico blue's
(please save your money and get Ground-controls/Koni's)
if you actually drive the car agressivly on the track, you'll thank me!
oh yeah AEM CAI, got it cheap, used and a Neuspeed STB.
With these mods It's better than stock, and is quicker than most cars on the road, but bottomline it's a nice daily driver, it's not a racecar, but it is a quick and reliable form of transportation. and it gets great gas MPG without hogging 93 octane.
I went from an Rx-7 Turbo, to this car, and while the relability is 400 times better, a FWD honda, is just that, reliable daily driver, nothing more.

Sounds like you've got a pretty nice setup aLmoSt-vtec.
I have to agree with you in many ways. I see my integra as a quick (for what it is), reliable, and sporty car that is a lot of fun to drive and is great on gas. When I really want to get serious about straight line performance (quarter mile) I can go to my 455 cu. in. Firebird.
Don't get me wrong though. It doesn't take too much to make these Hondas real contenders. I'd love to see the hp per liter of an ITR 1.8L in my 455 (7.4L) Firebird!
