Default GSR in Import Tuner

I was at Super Walmart last night in the mag section, looking to see if this months mags had any tegs in them. Well I saw an article in Import Tuner, Its a GSR, with a .20 overbore, 12.5"1 comp ratio, skunk stage 3's, a CAI, and a dc header with custom 2.5 inch cat back. This man put 205 to the wheels, and runs a best of 12.98 on slicks. The car is not gutted either. It is white and very clean. If you guys get a chance, check this article out. I wonder if this guys in on here or TI. Let me know if you guys have seen the article.

I'm not convinced it's streetable with Stage 3 cams.

I plan on running a very similar set up. 12.5:1 compression, but using different cams, and better fuel management, and exhaust.

overall its pretty nice. the skirts/lip/valence is not paintmatched though. you can see the white is slightly off.

that does seem suspect...205 really isn't all that much considering there are guys out there making 500hp and only breaking into the 10 1/2 sec range.

Something sounds fishy, with stage 3 cams you would think he would have found a way to push mroe then 205 Hp to the wheels with that c1, thats not exactly impressive.

With Skunk2 stage 2 cams I fully expect to be puting down 215 hp in a month. But I went with bigger cams. Rocket Motorsport M24A's. If I don't hit 225 with those I'll be dissapointed.

Hey what does he put down for torque? There is this all-motor cheaply built engine in another forum i forgot what it was,but it was road-race.It was a b18b engine that put down 190 hp and 160 torque all-motor no vtec.Thats very impressive. And he could have used more compression and bored it out still, and more agressive cams...That would be a monster.

I can't scan the article cause I am on spring break, but yea i was suspect too when he said stage 3 cams and no intake manifold, plus a dc sports header? I know they are ok, but with compression and cams like that, u think comptech or toda, or a custom hytech or SMSp would be his choice. Either way, I think the car looks nice.

on slicks..slicks can make a big difference on the 1/4 mile, as well as track conditions and a bunch of other stuff..i'm not saying this is possible but certainly its not impossible.

Not to bust your bubble, but I would doubt that you're going to pull another 10whp when changing cams that are already pretty aggressive...at that point its very hard to get any extra hp.

Also, stage 3s can be streetable...thats the whole point of vtec.

Ya, I dunno that seems very suspect. I originally figured that 1/4 time was with a shot of Nitrous... but I'm kinda doubting it with a 12.5:1 cr.
some of those magazines like to glorify crap, so they just "forget" to mention that 100 shot of Nitrous.

Exactly. Why does everyone still just look at a peak number? Think about traction, gearing, track conditions, and of course driver.

As for the stock IM... I read once that the fastest all motor b18c1 was running the stock IM as well. I'll try to find the article.
