Scraping Front Lip
I have an OEM kit and I already scraped twice and my car is on STOCK height. Do any of you have cracked or severely damaged your front lip from scraping, curbing etc.? I am thinking of dropping my car about an inch.
When I had my car shipped from Ottawa, to Vancouver.. When they took it off the flat bed, the scraped up the front lip ..BAD!..it actully bent outwards and tore and where it connects to the fender on the drivers side broke and came right off!
.. sock cuckers!

ive scratched, curbed, broke, and chipped my front lip so much its pathetic. Most of the damages came from track events and from me hitting 2 blown out tires on the highway...it just looked awful.
Im having it painted right now and fixed...so it should be back to normal by next week...whew!

Just glue a big convex mirror to your acura emblem. Aim down and never hit a curb again. Or even better, hire a manservant to ride with you. He could get out and direct you into your parking stall! (works for parellel parking too!)

I should have clarified more, the entrance/exit out of our parking lot has a dip that most cars scrape. I take it sooooo slow but still manage to catch some pavement. I am just wondering dropping my car an inch would be too much for it to cause some major damage (cracks, etc. )

Yep, it's all in the angle. Don't approach dips straight on, but rather at an angle, like 30 degrees or so. You'd be amazed how much less often you scrape that way.
Again, it doesn't really matter if you are going slow - you need to take that at an angle rather than head-on and you won't scrape...

[QUOTEyou should sue for the damages. Developers are responsible to ensure safe, damage free entrance and egress from their buildings. Except, of course, if your talking about your personal driveway at a house. In that case get some ashphault patch and go to work.[/QUOTE]

I've been planning on trying to make one. I'll see if I can make some progress on it this weekend. I just want something simple to mount to the bottom of my front lip so the CF piece gets scraped up instead of my stock lip (well, too late for that, but...)
