(attn Xian): Diamond wheels, lug nuts... I searched!!
First, this is my first post on this board, so hello everyone.
I tried to PM xian regarding this matter, and also tried to create this topic in the more appropriate wheels/susp section, but I'm not allowed to do either, so here I am.
I need to know what lug nuts to buy for my Diamond wheels, on order. They say I need 45 degree lugs, does anyone know the thread type for Honda studs? Does anyone know of any lug nuts that are open-ended, fit Hondas, and have 45 degree seats?
BTW, xian, I'm the dude at the local solo events with the red ED9, 'case you were wondering.

Diamond carries the right lug nuts, you can order them there. I assume all Hondas have the same threads, my '89 Integra has 12x1.5mm threads. Hope that helps.

^ What he said. Order them from Diamond.
Oh, and the nuts they sell requires a 1" socket IIRC.
Most lugnuts use a 60* taper. Diamond uses a 45* taper.

Yep, they should fit on w/o clearance issues... in fact, I think there's someone else running 5.5" backspace w/o clearance problems.

I figured it must have beeen you
Have you decided on Hoosiers or Kumho's?

Weeeelllll...
I checked around and it looks like Kumho doesn't offer a Victoracer in our size (235 45 13) The tires you have seem to be the most competitive Kumhos that'll fit.
Still might do Hoosiers. I think I have my oversteer problem taken care of, so less worry about flat-spotting.
Oh, uh, I'm still a trial user and cannot use PM yet, soo, are you attending the driving school on the 20th?

Yep.... your choices are 235 V700's or 225 Hoosiers. From what I understand they're basically the same width though.
If this is your first set of R's, I'd suggest the Kumho's until you get used to them. Right now the thing slowing you down the most is going to be the driver (no offense meant!!). I just think that you'll get more use out of the Kumho's before you have to toss them and think that they may be a little easier to learn on.
I may go out to the school on the 20th but I'm not sure what sort of format they're going to have. I spoke with the event chair and he told me that it's actually going to be a school for novice drivers more than a test & tune
Regardless, I'll be there for the event on Sunday!

None taken. There is room for improvement, definately, that's why I'm trying to make it out to every event this year. Although I am starting to beat my dad's times more often (two driver car) which isn't quite fair because it's an unfamiliar car for him, then again he has a 25some-odd-year experience advantage.
Anyhoo.
If you, (Xian) or any other members would like to see some video from last event;
upressure.net/koto it's the first one (17mb).

you looked pretty good out there
I suspect that you'll be able to shave off a good bit of time with some stickier tires... what suspension setup are you currently running?
Christian- wwho wishes that he'd go ahead and start recording his autoX runs...

Do you have a camera? All I did was cinch the tripod down against the floor. If you provide a tripod and some tie-downs (ratcheting or cambuckle or whatever it's called, hit up Lowes)), I can borrow a camera for you to use, and I can get the vid hosted. I'd love to be able to compare tapes, I could probably learn a thing or two from it.
My suspension is Ground Control coilovers (intended for a DC2), and Tokico HP shocks (not the best, IMO). I'm also using a DA teg front sway and a no-name rear upper bar and a Neuspeed front upper.

yeah, I've got a vid camera but haven't worked up a new camera mount for the hatchcrap as of yet... maybe I'll add that to my list of things for this weekend?
Hmmm... any idea what rate those springs are? Tokico HP... yep, probably not the best for a long term setup. Front bar is probably fine but you may want to look into a bigger rear bar down the road.
Christian- who sent Matt IM but isn't sure if new users can receive IM...?

Can recieve, couldn't reply...
I think I could do a bigger rear bar if I made sure to run about a quarter inch toe in in the back. Event before last I had horrible snap oversteer, but it was not aligned and was running stock sways. Last event (with the DA bar and an alignment) it only spun once, when I wasn't driving.
I'm not sure of the rates, but I figure the front is meant for a B series' weight, so I'm golden up there, but the rear is a bit stiff.

It would probably be worthwhile to take a look at your rates before you start playing with alignment settings and sway bars... let me know if you want any tuning help
I'm going to try and remember to call GC tomorrow to find out the rates for the 94+ Integ. kit.
EDIT -- yes, any tuning advice is much appreciated.
