Default Should I "port match" my intake tube?

I have a DC 3" intake...but it reduces down to 2 3/8 (60mm) where it connects to the throttle body.

My throttle body is 64mm and my intake manifold is 64mm...so it would only make sense to enlarge the intake to that size right?

Definitely you want to make the transition as smooth as possible. You don't want air turbulence.

Well yes and no, good turbulence is what makes flow occur, if there is no turbulence at all then the air isnt moving, but i understand what u meant. When an engineer says "The flow is turbulent" thats a good thing. Thermodynamics 101

eeeert...

pressure drop is what makes flow occur.

make it smooth.... it will become turbulent (good for mixing and burning fuel) on its approach through the plenum/combustion chamber.

Someone said the reduction from 3" to 2 3/8" helps speed up the air and I should leave it as is...is that true?

Ive heard about this theory before..which is what the Iceman intakes do...but those intake gradually decrease in size.
The DC tube abruptly reduces from 3" to 2 3/8" in about the last 2" of piping.

Thoughts?

pV=nRT... moles... laminar flow.... bahhhh

Either have the reduction in the intake... or at the throttle body. The choice is yours. Enlarge it to promote laminar flow.

Shouldn't have to worry about it too much... without VTEC you may not notice the difference anyway....
