Winter Driving on Stock Rims with snow tires?
I am thinking about just getting winter tires for my stock rims and wanted to know if anyone had done this. If so, did you see any corrotion from road salt? I figured that I could wax that crap out of them and wash them off with water everytime I get home. Any advice or input would be GREATLY appreiciated.
ditto... i'm on pilot alpins on powdercoated gunmetals.
give your wheels a good coat of wax and don't use harsh detergents to wash. if they get salty, wash them (ie. common sense).
this may sound weird, but my friend fills a watering can full of water and drives off somewhere, then sprays all his wheels with a good wheel cleaner, then waters everything down with the watering can. never do this where you normally park or else your car will be sitting on 4 patches of ice come morning...

Shouldn't be a prob, it just costs alot of money to switch from summers to winters every year because each time you need to rebalance. For me it was $15/wheel. It's better getting steelies.
