OK so i met this guy tonight....hes trading me a t3/t4e turbo from turbonetics for my Nos fogger system...heres some questions..he told me hed install it all for free as long as im there to help/learn with him. He told me all i need to do is to get the stuff. i have an extra exhaust manifold...what now? he said i need a wastegate...but what else would i need. oh yeah i wanna run like 5-9 psi...is that bad on a stock block? any help would be appreciated.

 

theres a lot more parts needed than u mentioned... yeah, 5-9 with tuning is fine, search the FI forum for the most help however.

well, the forced induction forum is your friend.

you're gonna need (fill in if i miss something)
turbo
wastegate
BOV(blow off valve)
Intercooler
turbo manifold
injectors
fuel pump
fuel management
oil feed/return lines
piping
various clamps and silicon couplings
exhaust
downpipe
boost controller (not necessary)
gauges and whatnot

 

a turbo isnt a simple bolt on like a SRI or header, more goes into it than that, your going to have to get some type of fuel management, intercooling, larger exhaust. the list goes on. run a search in the FI forum. also if you want to know exactly what it is your getting into, i suggest going out and picking up a copy of "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell, lots of good info in there

 

your also going to need to tap you oil pan for your oil return line
