called JE and they quoted me anywhere from 2900-3500 depending on the misc parts I decided to get, if any.

also called InlinePro, they quoted me a flat 3850!!! That's just a tad bit out of my price range.

I'm definately gonna swap, thought about a rebuild on the A6 but just can't see it being worth it. I may actually end up with a ZC, who knows.

I'll let you all know what I decide in the next week or so.

Thanks
Evan

i'm sure 3800 includes an engine and i'm sorry for your friends that may have had problems. thats not common. their swaps are reliable and clean. all of my friends swaps and others i have seen(way more than 6) have been perfect. only time i've seen problems is when a customer brings their own motor, its missing parts, and they're too cheap to get the "right" stuff. so many times people think they can do their own swap to save money and end up bringing it there to finish it. inline then has to figure out what the customer did wrong and/or what is wrong with what the customer supplied for the swap. i'm not here to argue. they're very nice people, very knowledgable, have done more swaps than anyone around here, and gaurentee their work. thats good enough for me. good luck with the swap.

J and D are good. i like dave and dominico.

who are J & D?

I'm sure that Inline does a great job and the guarantee of work is definately a plus but unfortunately 4K is totally out of my price range.

J and D - 301-499-1330 they're located in capitol heights, md. i'd say about 30 minutes from annapolis. ask for david or dominico. they're nice and do good work from what i can tell.

in almost all cases yes. for just a bullshit swap, i would think so. i've only seen one check engine light in my car in the past year.......and i run more than twice the amount of hsp a swap has.

Bottomline, do the research, get several price quotes, find the best guarantees and make a decision.
