Default Fluidyne Radiator

Anyone using a aftermarket radiator? Is there any advantage to switch from an Oe radiator to a Fluidyne? If so, what are some differences between the two? Is the Fluidyne cool much better, is it lighter? Also by how much? Thanks for any opinions or help.

I have the Fluidyne It did seem lighter than stock when I was putting it in, also the fact that it is all aluminum I will not break on the top where metal meets plastic like mine did

Aftermarket radiators are usually all metal and it won't make your car run cooler, it will allow your engine to run hotter without overheating.

if u havethe money for the Fluidyne then get one.
there is another brand out there called CandR racing radiators which are pretty reputable but dont know how much they cost.

OR get an ITR OE radiator which all metal and u can prolly get one cheap

I ordered a C&R radiator/fan setup from Import Auto Salvage 6 weeks ago but I think it got shipped to Mars or the moon.. I'll post shitty before and after pics the install and include some witty commentary.

I've got the fluidyne with spal fans... i bought it b/c my oem radiator cracked and honda wanted waaaay too much for a new one. it is lighter than the stock one... but once you fill it with fluid i'm sure it's the same or a little heavier. It looks great though, and I'm sure it will do a good job cooling my T3/T4 revhard turbo this coming summer.

The Koyo radiators are even thicker than the fluidynes. They have both at http://www.absoluteradiator.com for cheaper than I've seen anywhere else.

if you dont need the extra cooling, then you dont need an aftermarket radiator.

The way I look at it.... it you have to replace your radiator, or you need more cooling, or even if you are looking at weight reduction or show points, aftermarket is the ONLY way to go. When my radiator cracked I went around looking for prices on an oem radiator and it was the same or more expensive than the fluidyne. Besides, the that shiny aluminum with the perfect welds looks soooo perty when I pop my hood. And the beautiful shiny aluminum fins look so nice through the front bumper.

OEM replacement rads are available for $150 pickup, $175 shipped at alot of places in the Bay Area and Sac Area..

Top rail won't fail on an alum radiator, it'll have to break a weld or rust through to fail.. Great upgrade for show cars or people that really race.. OEM for everyone else, spend the extra money on something that adds power..

If u are into competition racing, the big 'fluey' makes your car take more than 30 minutes (at idle) to get to normal op temperature.. (bad for consistency, tuning, etc)

darn f*cking radiators from http://www.radiator.com are pieces of sh*t. the thing overheats with just 30mins of hard driving. had to pull my car over to cool down. check very thorough for leaks. their are none. i made sure of it. OEM fit ment my ***! had to get hoseclamps from the hardware store. dunno what else could be wrong except teh cheap *** radiator. advertised at $123 but they actually charged my $154. the warranty is bullshit! cant even refund it. only thing their willing to do is raplace it with another one of their peices of crap! sorry. but im pissed off! waste of my $154 dollars! and my time!

im gonna go back with OEM from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com $179 for a new radiator. seriously thinking about fluidyne. dont ever want to deal with overheating. its a bitch!
