ehxaust for type s
If you want to fit a Type-S exhaust onto a base RSX, you would need to buy or get welded a 6" adapter pipe to connect the midpipe to the cat. This is because the RSX-S cat is closer to the front than the base cat.
Hope this helps.

its loud. no biggy, but good luck finding a cat-back setup that won't be loud man. the spoon n1 itself is not loud until the bpipe is added in conjunction with it. i think your best bet would be to get a custom bpipe made, keep or introduce a new resonator and use your stock s exhaust. i'm not sure if it flows as well as the ep3 muffler but either way that will be your quietest solution to a cat-back set up
I think something along the line of the Greddy SPII or the Apex'i World Sport II if they make those for rsx's are the way to go. Greddy evo and HKS Hiper are loud as **** man

if you got the cash I'd go with the Mugen sports exhaust system, it's deep but quiet.
and as everyone has said, the T1R and Spoon N1 is loud... pimp, but loud

If you want a good street exhaust that is not loud, go for the RS-R Ex-Mag (http://www.rs-r.com/exmag.htm). It's a straight through muffler so you're not killing performance but it's a huge muffler w/ lots of sound deadening material around it. You'll sacrifice some weight compared to the N1 style muffles but overall you’re not going to be able to tell the difference it performance—except from not “hearing” it as much. That said, there are a bunch of other mods you should do first before changing the exhaust on a RSX-S, at least in terms of bang for the buck.
Depends what you want.
If you want HP: CAI, Hondata, race header, in that order. It's a toss up between CAI and Hondata--in terms of which one you should do first. I put CAI first because you do gain a good amount from CAI and a measly $200. Also, Hondata #4 gains the most and it was designed to work with a CAI. I would suggest dropping the $1,000 on the programmable Hondata and just running the #4 program until you get a race header and some other mods, then go and tune it.

Best exhaust period for the RSX-S is the Fujitsubo Powergetter. It's pricey, but it's worth every penny. It is not too loud, but just loud enough to know you have a "tuned" exhaust. Highest quality. Also doesn't sound as raspy as the other exhausts for the car.
Most of these exhaust that are recomended are loud. Chances are, if youre going to get an aftermarket exhaust, its going to end up being louder than stock. Rarely will you find one that has good performance and comes with a quiet tone. My recomendation is to get a good recomended exhaust--add a silencer...
i was looking for a quiet, stock looking exhaust myself. the rs-r exmag is the only one that looks stock. i heard it's a little deeper sounding. i ended up purchasing a T1R b-pipe with the stock muffler. i then added a used type-R muffler. it 's louder when the bypass opens up but for the most part it's quiet. i probably should've bought a rs-r exmag because my set-up cost more. it's pretty dope, though.
