Default Help...what shop to go to in SoCal...

I have saved up about 2500 just for the car, but now I really don't know what to get. See I really want to get Toda Spec A cams [w/fpr, v-afc, toda cam gears, injectors] because I've already got all the bolt ons I can possibly do. I also live in Vegas, which I don't think there is a shop here that can actually tune cams. I think there is one dyno in town, that's it. Oh well, I think I decided I will go down to LA during winter break to install and tune everything. Anybody know a good shop to go to specifically for my needs...

Thanks, whoever responds is probably saving my life.

It pains me to here the bad press about Dynamic Autosports. They have done nothing but save me from shotty work done at other shops. I let few people touch my car. They top the list b/c they sold me all the parts that I own today. In the face of all this, I am not too proud to call all of them my friends. They are very knowledgeable and above all else, fair. People on this board whom you respect have had good experiences with them, especially epgonzalez. Ask him about the experiences that he has had. If I am not mistaken, his heritage is latino and I am black. I've spent many hours at Dynamic shootin the ****. I observed their interaction with customers through retail, mechanical work, and dyno tuning. I've seen nothing but smiling faces. We all have bad experiences.

There are few shops that are any good in this import scene. Save the trash talking and bad press for someone else's shop.

Respectfully,

Sleepy

Actually Tech43 has neen in business for like over 2 years but has just moved to its new location on Normandie in Gardena right in between Enonvativ Force(Non's shop) and Pro Audio Motorsports like 6 months ago.

The owner, Steve Taylor, chooses to go by word of mouth and already has a phat list of clientele! He does top notch work whether it's engine building, swaps, turbokits and even bodywork and paint! His focus is on Hondas but he can do work on other makes also! And yes...his shop is equipped with a dyno! He can get basically anything JDM, in fact its one of his specialties!

I also have to mention that he goes beyond being cool with his customers. His prices are more than fair and he doesn't try to jerk you! Ask him anything and he will answer! From the first time we talked we have always been on the level!

Oh yeah did I mention he built the initial motor for the PY Toda ITR in last years SCC. And he designed the turbo kit for that drag blue Ford Focus! If anyone is interested IM me for contact info!

Kinda OT, but why don't you install the cams with some knowledgeable member from H-T.com?

I mean, don't you want to learn about how it's done? (Not saying you don't care.) I think it'll be a good learning experience. Once you have it installed correctly (probably take a good day or two), you can tune it at any shop you want.

Just a suggestion.

I can't say whether or not they're racists, but a lot of the time they are busy.. i'll try to talk to some of the guys about this

Ive had work done both at Atomic by dr Charles and at Dynamic Autosports by Aries. I got my JUN 3's and my valvetrain done by Charles. I can say he's a damn good guy and they take every measure possible to do a good job. He started wrenching on my car at 12 MIDNIGHT and finished at 3. I wasnt even in a rush, he just felt like working on some cars that night and went at it. Obviously, Atomic is no more so i have no opinion on Import Builders as i have no clue as to who the head mechanic is. Aries is a good god damn tuner. The people who complain about bad installs are most likely the people who COME IN with do it yourself mickey mouse installs. And this chit about Dynamic being racist~ have any of you seen dynamics client base?? All kinds of people from all nations come in with no problem. Most of these chit talkers are the people who cant afford paying for what something is worth. Those guys can keep going to places that give free installs with any purchase and see why that shops time is not worth any money. These people get treated like chit everywhere they go without realizing that its THEM, not the shop. There would be no reason everyone in the industry is closely knit with dynamic if they were at all percieved as racist. Im sick of cheap *** bastards writing biased chit online. Sorry about the long post. Just my .002 cent.
