Any RSX's here have a funny noise when launching?

Any RSX's here have a funny noise when launching?
When launching from 3000-4000 RPM there is a godawful sound coming from either the suspension or the motor mounts in my buddy's car.
Like a "THUD THUD THUD"... it's not wheelhop... sounds mechanical, is this a norm or should he take it to a dealership? Thanks in advance.

hmmmm, well the only weird noise I hear is my radar detector bouncing off the front dash, other than that my car is fine 
.....could it be that you have a loose screw on youre CAI or your SRI?
