KYB vs. Tokico
The agx's are also twice as expensive. I'm just trying to figure out whether the least expensive kyb's are better than the least expensive tokico's or vice-versa.
picked up some AGX's for $315. I haven't tried them yet waiting till I press my poly. bushings in combination w/ some tein springs. in all it should be a nice set up check out Ebay -KYB warehouse- or http://www.triangleautosupply.com (same people)

aren't kyb agx's teh same as kyb gr2's when you set them 1-2 front and 1-2 rear.

No one has really said anything regarding your actual question yet, so I'll try and give you some useful help. I've got the tokico hp's w/ eibach sportlines on my eg hatch, has a good ride, good drop, maybe 1.5 in the front and 1-1.25 in the back. not rough at all with decent handling characteristics. Probably have close to 30k miles on them, quality hasn't declined noticeably.
Haven't had any personal experience with gr-2's, but from what I've heard, they don't do very well with stiff springs, such as skunk2 coilovers. I think that both of these shocks are decent entry level shocks and are definitely a step up from stock. I would say that these two are probably very similar and yoou probably wouldn't be able to tell a difference between the two.

do you think the gr2's will pair up nicely with tein stech springs?

I'd think so, theyre a little on the soft side. id just stay away from the really stiff springs (H&R race, s2 coils). thatd be a fair drop and improved handling with near-stock ride quality.

thanks for the heads up, I just ordered some tein stechs and kyb gr2's an hour ago. I'll let you guys know how the car rides once I get them in.
