2000 f23 sohc vtec, VAFC ?
buddy has a VAFC an a 2000 honda accord coupe with the f23 sohc vtec. theres conflicting info, some say you can hook it up like an f22, others say you cant because the 98+ accords are bi-communicational ecus. anyone know the answer? and does anyone have a wiring diagram how to hook it up the apex one sucks.
go to apex'i website for the lastest wiring diagram, also look for a pinout somewhere in the internet.
remember "6in and 6out" when you put in the setting

yea i was gonna buy the V-AFC II and supposedly it wont work on my engine. a person i know wit an f23 talked to apexi and said it wont work on the f23. but shouldnt it be universal to any vtec. even though i have herd of people on other forums with the V-AFC I.
well we hooked it up according to apex's instructions, and EVERYTHING works except for the vtec function. in other words, vti will not kicik and the engine throws a code, we scanned it and its vtec function. it is in limp mode an wont go over 4000 rpms. now, we disconnected the vtec wires from the ecu, an now we are throwing NO CEL an the car runs normal. so basically its like an SAFC now, you can tune fuel and air, but you cant adjust vtec. i know its hooked up right. the vtec solenoid has a green with a yellow stripe an we traced it back to the ecu and matched it up with the correc t wire. i dont think a VAFC I will work with a bi-communicational honda. if someone can prove me wrong please link or tell me.
actually this is from APEXi themselves
VAFC: Will the VAFC work on 4 cyl. Accords?
No. The VAFC will not work correctly on 4 cyl. Accord models. 4 cylinder Accords incorporate a slightly different method of VTEC control causing the engine to hesitate at approx. 5000 RPM when the VTEC engagement point is changed. The VTEC AFC will work correctly on 6 cyl. Accords.
Please double check our Documentation/ VAFC Updates page for the latest VAFC application charts.
then they go an list the f23 in the application list? wtf, someone find me an answer please!
